Divine Blessing for Protective Wellness of those who do Seva
Significance: Jana means 'People'. Kalyana means 'Wellness'. Thus Jana Kalyana signifies a process through which wellness is received by people. This is a process evolved through the grace of Lord Vishnu and this is for everybody. This is like a general solution to everybody's requirement. Through this, if there is any form of discontentment on account of any reason, it is dissolved and wellness is reinstated back.
Whom does this benefit most?
A Mythology Related With Lord Vishnu:
Lord Vishnu has a special inclination towards all those who do works of service for the wellness of others and society. He promises to all those engaged in Seva that when you do good, good is what shall come back to you and I shall always see to it that it is always such.
But time to time, the balance of equilibrium shifts towards the negative and unethical side. At all such times, the opposite starts to happen to people. People who do good suffer and badness prevails as powerful hold. The negative powers are strong at this time and they tend to disturb any good activity. Thus, sages who are concerned about doing good to people through prayers are disturbed in their prayers and works by scoundrals who would not allow any good work to be done. They keep sending their forces of disturbances on to every location of good works and keep disturbing without any real purpose. They simply seem to have their share of happiness in causing this disturbance.
It is here that Lord Vishnu deals with such negative forces with compassionate ruthlessness and drives them away cautioning them not to return to areas where pious activities are held. When confronted with this form of Lord Vishnu, many of the negatives transform into positives and start doing pious works themselves which is welcomed by the lord himself; a few of the negatives run away and do not return back to disturb; and the remaining negatives who do not agree to change or stop their activities get killed by the lord. Thus the flow of good works is again established.
Another Related Mythology:
In the course of the great galactic war that had ensued post elixir emergence between the demons and demi-gods, Lord Vishnu (the preservator) himself got frustrated with the continuing series of all nonsense happenings. So he decided to go to sleep and closed his eyes handing over the charge of responsibilities to Lord Shiva (the destroyer). With responsibilities handed over, Lord Shiva naturally opened his eyes. And fire spread over everywhere. There was disturbance everywhere as Lord Shiva kept watching the proceedings and Lord Vishnu kept sleeping.
So Narad (the divine preacher) led a team and approached Lord Vishnu through Goddess Lakshmi (the prosperity giver). Lord Vishnu gave his consent to listen to both the demi-gods and demons without any bias. He toured all the worlds on his vehicle 'Garuda' (Eagle) and observed everything before setting up the appointment. He kept smiling as he listened to both sides because there was actually no problem at all except an acknowledgement of their existence needed in the universe. After patient listening, he told that he would bestow equal status to all but the choice had to be made by them only as regards what they wanted. To both the sides, he gave these choices (of being angel gods or being simply human):
I: To the demons, he said, Males be 'Yaksha' , Females be 'Pari' or Male and Female be 'Human'
II. To the demi-gods, he said, Males be 'Gandharva', Females be 'Apsara' or Male and Female be 'Human'
And he said further, I as "Janardana" will go only to human. And if any human gives me a call, I will be there. But this call of human is heard in accordance of qualities of 'Sathya' (truth), 'Dharma' (righteousness), 'Ahimsa' (non-violence), 'Shanti' (peace), 'Shraddha' (faith), 'Bhakti' (devotion), 'Samarpan' (totality offering) and 'Saburi' (patience). For all this that is within a human, I have only one thing to give, 'Prema' (pure love). And that is sufficient solution for anything.
