Mythology Story:
After Krishna had moved over to Dwarka, his devoted Uddhava came to him. Uddhava was now very much different than what he was when Krishna had left him. He appeared as if he was living in a coal mine. There was all black dust that had stuck itself all over him and this would not fall at all. Uddhava started telling Krishna that all is not well at Vrindavan. There is hardship and difficulty there. Nobody is happy there. Sadness prevails everywhere there. Krishna's own gopikas, he told are the worst affected. They all appeared to have lost every and any interest in life. They were all simply like living dead.
Krishna smiled and asked Uddhava to at first be seated, be relaxed. He asked for milk and food to be brought for Uddhava and asked Uddhava to be at first have food and refresh himself. Then we will talk. As Uddhava started eating the served food, Krishna started playing his flute. Uddhava was again disturbed and he roared, why are you playing that flute. How can you do this when there is nothing to be happy about playing this flute.
Krishna then asked Uddhava, 'what has happenned to you. why are you holding on to so much of black dust all upon yourself.' Uddhava neglected this question and started reporting on how things were chaotic and remorse in Vrindavan. Krishna again started playing his flute. Uddhava again roared 'stop playing that flute. this is not the time to play tunes on that flute of yours.'
Krishna smiled and asked Uddhava, 'do you know why i am playing the flute'. Uddhava said as usual you simply want people to forget about realities existing and simply get hypnotised into feeling good when it is not actually so. Krishna smiled again and said, 'do you really feel that this is what am doing when somebody is in trouble'. Uddhava said if this is not so then what else is it for.
Krishna said that I am not playing the flute at all even though you surely do see me playing on it. I am only invoking upon the most important shakti form that can resolve all things for everybody, and that is goddess Saraswati. I am only spreading the influence of this mother everywhere by blowing in some air.
People see me playing on the flute because the flute is something that they are all interested in. And they have their own expressions as they listen to this very flute. But they do not understand what is actually to be done by them. All that I am saying through the play of this flute is that go to mother saraswati and all problems shall be resolved. As long as this is not done by each and every of those troubled how can you expect the strongly bonded black dust to fall off from your beautiful self. Without doing this yourself, how can you expect harmony and happiness be restored in vrindavan.
So dear Uddhava he said, do not waste your time here. Let me play on my flute and you go and take blessings from mother saraswati.
