The whole universe was functioning automatically as per the laid norms of the trinity. Creation was happening in due course by itself; it was living its destined life cycle by itself; it was ending by itself. And it was said so for all that whatever has to happen shall happen whenever it has to happen; all is happening as per what is already destined; there is nothing that anybody could do for it. So when this was such, in all practicality everything even though existing ceased to exist. There was nothing to be in existence for. Everything was pre-destined.
There was no more evolution. No growth anymore. No progress anywhere. No ascension for any soul anymore.
The entire creation continued to convince itself upon the theory of paramananda in inertia of nothing existing at all. What else could be done anyway was what was thought. Lord Ganesha approached Lord Vishnu in this condition and said, please do something. The whole progress has come to halt in the universe. The rich shall remain rich; the poor shall remain poor; the childless childless; the unhappy unhappy; and so on; not just this even the divine worlds stopped progressing further; each of the lesser gods stayed on where were. He said further that it is pointless to explain or expect any help from the creator or destroyer in this regard and only he as the preservator and establisher of justice could bring about a change to this developed condition.
Lord Vishnu greatly appreciated Lord Ganesha's concern for development of all society and said that would do it but would Ganesha himself be willing to sacrifice himself and his family for this task. Ganesha said if this be done for the good of the world so be it.
Lord Vishnu then manifested a child from the womb of Ganesha's consort Riddhi and then through his leela got the birth of this child from his other consort Siddhi. Yet neither Riddhi nor Siddhi were involved in the actual manifested creation. The creation manifested from another point.
Once this happened, the whole universe underwent a shift. And growth became a possibility again. Thus was creation again begun in its originality. Lord Ganesha was very happy with this been done. And wished this happiness be maintained but into his control. For the same he did not even allow the created child be blessed by Lord Vishnu. So Lord Vishnu smiled and said to Ganesha - from now onwards in this world you shall gain name and fame by the name of Vighneshwara.
