Divine Blessing For Improvement in Health
Significance: Swasthi points towards 'good health'. Vardhan means 'enhancement'. Thus Swasthi Vardhan signifies a process through which health is improved.

Once the three main goddesses got together. Their discussions went on the topic of wealth and health. Goddess Lakshmi maintained that wealth is most important while Goddess Parvati maintained that health is most important. Finally when the discussion was not becoming conclusive, Goddess Saraswati suggested that they should conduct a practical exercise to ascertain which is more important. The other goddesses agreed to this.
The goddesses called upon all the representatives from the demonic and divine worlds and asked them to make a choice between health and wealth.
After a lot of deliberations amongst themselves, the demons chose wealth and the divine chose health. Both actually had the same reason for making such a choice. They simply chose what was not upto the mark with them. The demons had good health with them and so they chose wealth. The divine had good wealth with them and so they chose health.
On making this choice, this is what happenned:
The demons then desparately tried to regain their lost health and the divine desparately tried to regain their lost wealth. The demons kept using their wealth to attain health and the divine kept using their health to attain wealth.
In this process balance and harmony of coexistence was lost between them.
Goddess Saraswati then again called them all and also Goddesses Lakshmi and Parvati and said, "It is pointless to initiate such topics that are inconclusive and ego framed. Such exploits snatch away the peace and happiness and thereafter, even if any conclusion is derived at, it is such that it has no further use of any good." She further said that both health and wealth are required in equality and not any single of these can be ascertained as to be of more importance. But just for the sake of primary importance one should always hold that "Health is Wealth". This she said because a healthy person can honestly earn wealth through works that do good to all. And those with wealth should make use of this wealth such as to do good with it for others so as to enable them regain health or build on health.
